Back to Rufus Rufus Visits the Knecht Family

The Knecht Family, Lancaster, Ohio

March 2004

Welcome to Ohio, Rufus! Dylan and his family are so happy to see you! We took lots of photos (please make sure to look at them all!). Dylan is almost 6 years old. He has been diagnosed since he was 2 years old. We live in Lancaster, Ohio. Dylan loves to have pen-pals. Look us up on the website.

We took Rufus to see our uncle's pig farm in Jeffersonville, Ohio. Here are some pictures of Rufus, Dylan, and Dad.

Rufus learned to swim at the YMCA. And he had a quick lesson in Tae Kwon Do (along with brother Nick, Master cho and Dylan).

We also took Rufus with us on a trip to the mall with sister Isabella, brother Nick, and Dylan.

Rufus visited the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio, and we took some great photos of Chihuly glass.

Then, the whole family left for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a family vacation. Here are some photos of Rufus with our family at the beach!

Grandma got Dylan is very own Rufus bear. Here is a photo of Dylan with both Rufus bears!

We will be so sad to see Rufus go, but he has helped bring awareness to diabetes. We took him with us every place we went, and told his story to anyone who would listen! Goodbye, Rufus, have fun!
