Class of 2003
Garrett was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in March of 1998 at age 12. Garrett will graduate the 3rd of June and will attend Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, where his major will be Political Science. He was recruited by and hopes to play Lacrosse for their nationally ranked lacrosse team.
Garrett has served as the Secretary of Student Government at his high school for two years has four letters in Lacrosse and one in Soccer, and was co-captain Senior year of both his varsity soccer and lacrosse team. Garrett has been an active member of Amnesty International since freshman year, is a member of the National Art Honor Society and the chess club. Garrett was voted one of the most memorable students in the class of 2003 and class flirt.
Garrett has been on a regime of NPH regular and Humalog since diagnosis and will switch to Lantus this summer prior to leaving for college. He has been very fortunate to have a great diabetic team at CNMC in Washington DC.
