Class of 2003
Allison Michelle Blass will graduate from her Oregon public high school on June 5, 2003. Allison was diagnosed with diabetes on January 27, 1994 at age 8. Allison currently uses the Minimed 508 pump.
In high school, Allison served as vice-president for the World Religions Forum but spent most of her out-of-school time volunteering for diabetes organizations. She hosts an online chat for teens with diabetes, helps plan the youth conference for the ADA and served as an Oregon delegate to JDRF's Children's Congress 2001. Allison also babysits children with diabetes at a local diabetes support group. When she isn't doing one of her many diabetes activities, Allison likes to write, read, watch movies and television (The West Wing is her favorite) and hang out with friends.
This summer, Allison will be spending three weeks in Europe with her mother before starting college. Allison would like to one day work for a diabetes organization or become a magazine writer--preferably both!
