Hi my name is Megan, and I'm almost 15 years old. I was just diagnosed June 21, 2010. I was sleeping A LOT more than I usually did, and drinking tons of water and going to the bathroom constantly. After I came back from a camping trip with my best friend, my dad noticed I was really skinny and pale and just looked run down. I had lost 20lbs in just a week, and was extremely dehydrated.
My parents took me to urgent care, and they told us to go the hospital to get blood work done. Before the blood work came back the doctor smelt my breath and checked my blood sugar. It was in the 500's! So from the hospital I got transferred to Childrens Hospital in Madera. I got to ride in an ambulance. It wasn't till about 1 in the morning I got out of the ER, and onto the main floor. I stayed there for 3 days.
A little bit about me: I'm home schooled, and a sophomore this year. I love to dirt bike, and ride quads and ATC's. My favorite colors are blue, green, and brown. I have German Shepherd named Bandit that I love to death. I have 2 sisters, and one brother. Hanging out with my best friend Katie, and volunteering at my local SPCA is the best.
