My son Rohit, who is 5 years and 5 months old, was diagonsed with type 1 diabetes on October 23, 2009. He is having the pokes and shots regularly and feels he is fine. His mom is adminstering his daily shots with the help of this small guy.
We as parents did not recoganise this, as we did not know that kids can get diabetes. We were shocked when told by his doctor about this as we thought it was something like a bad dream. We took him to a hospital in Michigan and he was there for four days. We realised that without our help or intervention there is no other way to survive, so as parents we are dedicating our life to helping our son o have pokes and shots at the right time, as this was our primary responsibility to have good health for him. We hope one day there will be some remedy for this.
Ravi, father of Rohit
