My name is Erin. The first thing that happened was my mom thought I had the flu. One I got my blood work and at the doctors and they said I lost 12 pounds. And one day my mom the principal brought me to school. When I was going up the stairs I fell so my mom picked me up and took me home. Then I didn't want to eat anything. Then my mom my dad and my aunt noticed I started to get very weak I couldn't even stand up in the shower. So after that my Aunt Julie and my mom took me to the emergency room. Gottlieb couldn't take care of me so I went in an ambulance to Loyola after midnight they kept poking me with syringes I told them to stop. They didn't. I finally fell asleep. They still were poking me. My mom told them to stop and they finally did! The next day I found out I had diabetes. I had no clue what it was. The doctors gave me a book and a bear the book taught me about diabetes and the bear had diabetes too. All that was on T.V. was Tom and Jerry. One day a lot of people came and gave me presents. I finally got out of the hospital on February 13, 2007. My dad stayed with me on mornings and my mom stayed on nights.
