Hello. I'm Adam and I live in Brisbane, Australia. I'm 15 and I've had diabetes for a couple of months.
I was diagnosed on the last day of school, which really sucked because I had the weekend and two weeks of holidays. I went to the hospital on Friday and I got out Monday afternoon. I was really shocked that I had diabetes I was really upset because I a am a Coca-Cola lover and I drank a lot of Coca-Cola and my mum was also upset because she thought that all this bad food I ate caused it.
Before we came to the hospital I didn't know anything about diabetes. But the hospital staff told me a lot more information about diabetes and know I now what it is.
I'm slowly getting used to the whole setup. I take four insulin injections a day. I use Novo Rapid, the fast acting one, and I use Lantus, the slow acting one.
I get half an hour out of class time for my injections and blood tests everyday. Well at least I'm happy, but it's not permanent.
I'm still very new to diabetes and yea well thank you for reading my story. If you would like to talk to me on MSN, here's my email:
