Back to Kid' Voices Dominic

Hi, my name is Dominic and I'm nine years old. I'm stick my own finger about 6 times a day. I have long term insulin I inject at the same time every day as well as my short term insulin I have to inject every time I eat. I always have my tester and a little snack with me at all times.

I used to get very bad lows and get very sick. I forgot my tester on the school bus and I was very scared that I lost it. But my bus driver realized that I left my tester and brought it to the school nurse.

Sometimes I feel mad and cry because I do not understand why god would let kids have diabetes. It can be very hard but this is my life i have very good days as well.

I love to be outside and I live near the iron range so there are many things we can do outside. I just learned how to play bocce ball. I love to ride my bike. I am a green belt in Tae Kwon Do. I also got a summer program called Reach. I love my teachers and class mates.

We are working with a very nice lady Kara. She works at the hospital to help people mange diabetes and she is helping my family and me learn how use the insulin pump. I am very excited about this.

You can email my mom at jennifer101479 AT
