Hi! My name is Kristy. I am 14 and live in Ohio. I struggle with diabetes everyday, as I'm sure most of you have gone through if you have been diagnosed.
I was diagnosed in March of 2001 only 5 days after my birthday. Fortunately I lived close enough to Pittsburgh's children's hospital which has an excellent team of endocrinologists.
When I was first diagnosed my family would ask me when my sugar was high, what I did wrong, but I didn't even know. Dealing with diabetes has made me more mature. Though I miss things like trick or treating, I can get out of a boring class when my sugar is low or high. I can still do everyday things like normal kids, just to a certain extent.
IM me at reeltrume91 if you have AOL. If not mail me at
