My name is Joshua. I am five years old. I like diabetes because I have a pump and I don't have to have shots and some gum has carbs and you have to bolus. I have friends I made because I have diabetes: Anthony, Siobhan, Alex and those girls that play with Barbie's.
Joshua was diagnosed when he was 20 months old on September 15, 2001. He began pumping with the Cozmo when he was 3 1/2 years old (BayState's youngest pumper to date). Joshua hates site changes but loves pumping. He ate his first soft serve ice cream the summer he started pumping.
Joshua will be starting kindergarten in September 2005.
Joshua helps his mom deliver the JDRF Bag of Hope to newly-diagnosed kids, he participates in the Walk for the Cure and he attends a support group with other kids with diabetes. Mostly though, he's just a kid who loves Hot Wheels, Gameboy, and trains.
