Hi my name is Jordan, I'm 13, and I was diagnosed with diabetes in July 2004. I had been feeling tired and drinking and going to the bathroom a lot. My parents were starting to get mad at me because we were in the middle of moving from California to Arizona and I drank and we had to stop a lot. I had been feeling this way for about three weeks and my mom saw me without a shirt and told me to weigh myself because she could see every bone in my upper body. I only weighed 98 pounds had lost almost 40 pounds. We went to the clinic that night and my blood sugar was almost 600. The nurse at the clinic immediately got me a bed at the hospital for a week because my triglycerides were almost 10,000!
I'm out now and doing better. I've been doing my own insulin shots since the second day in the hospital and I've accepted diabetes as a thing that I'm going to have to live with. I can't change it so I'm gonna have to live with it. It would be nice to get some e-mails from other people so e-mail me at jr89801[@]yahoo.com.
