Back to Kids' Voices Alexis

My name is Alexis. I have had type 1 diabetes for about two years. I'm nine and I'm considering camp for diabetics this summer it looks like fun. Diabetes for me isn't really cool. But there's always hope that one day there will be a cure so I don't have to take shots anymore! I don't give my own shots yet, but I do my own finger pricks.

Some of my hobbies are playing with my dogs, singing, Pom and Cheer, computer, writing, and outdoor activities. I also have 6 bunnies :).

I have two dogs named Buddy and Amy Lou. Buddy, a Golden Retriever, is one and a half years old, and Amy, a Black Lab, is 10 months old. Buddy likes to play fetch and be lazy. Amy likes to dig and run around.
