Hi! My name is Jenna. I live In British Columbia, Canada. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on April 21 2001. I am 10 years old and am in Grade 6. I am in late French immersion and I must admit it is kind of hard! I don't like diabetes at all! Sometimes it's ok but other times, when I have to stop what I'm doing to test or to eat a snack, I don't like it.
I play lacrosse and I have for five years. I play goalie for a mixed team, and I play player for a girls team! I prefer the girls because I like playing out more than staying in the goal because it can get boring sometimes in the goal, but other times it's full of action. I also started curling this year and it's fun! My team has won 5 out of 6 games we've played!
I have lots of friends at school and I have fun at school (sometimes it can be really boring though!). I have one brother named Jarrett and he is in Grade 8, and is 13. He says if he got diabetes he would be really mad! I don't blame him -- it's not like its fun! Me and my family go to church every Sunday (well almost every Sunday). My Dad plays the guitar in the choir. My mom likes to collect Cornish ware and go on Ebay. My brother play lacrosse field and box, and hockey. He likes lacrosse better though. I also like golfing. On sunny days, my grandparents and I go to the golf course and play. Its fun!
In my spare time I like to sing, go on MSN (my account is
justtrouble33[@]hotmail.com), play soccer, baseball, hockey, and read. My favourite book is Willow & Twig. It's a very good book about a brother and a sister who are abandoned by their Mom. My favourite series of books are the Series of Unfortunate Events. They are really good book about three children whose parents died in a fire, leaving them a fortune of money and no home. I sing all the time, so much that my brother gets mad at me! I sang at the talent show at my school last year and I am this year with a friend as well.
I hate diabetes I hope they come up with a cure soon! Bye!
