Back to Kids' Voices Jordan

Hi! My name is Jordan and I am almost 15 years old. I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 6. No one in my family has or had diabetes, so when I was diagnosed this was all new to us. But now, there is nothing I don't know about diabetes. I have an Animas insulin pump, which I got when I was 11. I love it! It is such a blessing and I don't know where I would be without it.

Some of my interests include cheerleading, and dance. I live in Pennsylvania and love watching the eagles and the Sixers. I'm a huge Philly Sports Fan! My older brother and parents are very supportive and I am lucky to have such a wonderful family. My friends are also awesome. They know all about being low and high and are always there for me.

I'm not perfect when it comes to diabetes ... and who is? It is very hard living with diabetes but it's important to take care of yourself. Eating right, exercising, and testing regularly is key. If anyone is newly diagnosed or just wants someone to talk to about it, I'd love to talk. My email address is Jbaby3021 AT
