Back to Kids' Voices Dane
I'm Dane. I was at a summer day camp in 1997 and was going to the bathroom a lot (I earned the name port-a-pottie man). My mom and the camp director saw each other one night and started talking about me. Kelly (the camp director) said it might be diabetes. Sure enough, on the 3rd day of 6th grade, August 27, 1997, I was diagnosed. I really don't have a problem with diabetes, it just becomes a routine after a while. I excersise and eat right and don't let it run my life. And there's actually advantages to diabetes:

  1. People admire you when you take shots.
  2. Night time snacks.

I like watching football (Green Bay Packers), baseball (St. Louis Cardinals), College sports (Iowa Hawkeyes), and NASCAR (Sterling Marlin is #1, Tony Stewart a distant #2). I like to bowl, play baseball, and this year am going out for league football (I like playing more when not under pressure). I want to play running back, I've been working lately to get ready to try. I like collecting baseball and football cards, NASCAR cars, and Country Music CD's. I love country music and playing baseball on my game boy.

I have a personal web page, give it a look, or email me.:
