From Peterborough, Ontario, Canada:

Can an insulin pump be used to manipulate blood sugar levels? Can it be used to set blood sugar levels either higher or lower than normal? I am asking this because of a new foster teen we have in our home who will report high or low sugar levels at times that seem convenient to her.

Insulin pumps indeed can be used to manipulate blood sugars. In addition, children can occasionally factitiously report blood sugars that aren't true.
