From Seattle, Washington, USA:

Is it more important for children with diabetes to receive their immunization shots?

On balance, I think it is. However, as a paediatrician, I am a strong advocate of immunising all children against the common childhood diseases. Diabetes doesn't make any of these infections more likely but blood sugar control can certainly be knocked for six by any of them and that's before you consider the other nasty risks of whooping cough, measles, etc. Get your child properly immunised.
