The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation will be selling holiday cards in 2002 and they are presently accepting art work from children with diabetes for consideration to be used on the cards. The artwork to be used in this year's competition must be post marked by August 22, 2002.
First prize will be a $200 scholarship toward the CWD conference next year or as a gift certificate to a store of your choice in your hometown and four $50.00 prizes will be awarded as well. Five drawings will be chosen for this year's collection of cards which will be boxed in sets of 25 cards and envelopes.
The artwork should have a holiday theme, a religious theme, a commercial theme or a winter theme or even a theme of your child's own imagination. The use of words should be minimum, if at all, and all colors can be used.
The original artwork becomes the property of DRI and all funds raise from the holiday card program will benefit the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Medical Center-—one of the finest diabetes research centers in the world.
Drawings should be on a sheet no larger than 8 1/2 X 11 inches and should be drawn as a horizontal. All finalists will have their picture and the state they reside on the back along with when they were diagnosed. Send to:Tom Karlya
