Smiles, hugs, tears, photos (lots of photos)… and lots of coffee. Omelets. CWD bacon. Toasters that take forever (why exactly is that?). Yep, that's the Friends for Life Farewell Breakfast. It was an amazing holiday week with old friends and new friends, a CWD family numbering over 3,000 strong.

A few last minute thank you's from Laura:

To the CWD Marines – You are the quiet, no-nonsense muscle and logistics behind getting the conference up and running. We couldn't do a conference without you! Thanks for getting there early.

To Julia Mattingly and Jo Stroud – you have Registration down to a science. Well-done.

To the room captains and the room helpers – great job; professional and efficient. I know the parents appreciated that they could be summoned at any time if their child needed them.

To the Set-up and Tear-down crews – you were behind the scenes before and after, and the conference could not happen without your tremendous efforts. It was a lot of work this year, and hot. Thank you.

To Ashley Head – Thanks for coming across the ocean – for a third time - to be in charge of the Exhibit Hall! Next year, make sure that Shayne is with you (glad you brought Phoebe this year)!

To Dr. Szirth, Dr. Shahid, and staff – Thank you for donating a week of your time doing retinal screenings for our kids – we so appreciate how much you care about our children!

To Bernadette Tull – Good to have you back, and up, and listening intently to those who need to tell their stories.

To Scott and Heather Kyllo – What an efficient behind-the-scenes team you are. Plus you read minds and get stuff done before anyone asks. When we get a CWD tour bus, you get to drive it – and configure the internet.

To Mike Schurig – No one has an inkling how much time goes into the FFL menus and carb counts. Great job, on to year 13. I know you've had those menus out already.

To all of the teens who served as Mentors to the elementary and tween kids this year – You are the future of CWD. I'm very proud of you.

To the First-Timers Team – You make everyone who walks in the door feel welcomed. It takes a special talent to do that. Thank you.

To our exhibitors – Thanks for being with us this week to share your products and talk to our families.

To our sponsors - Each year, your support enables the Friends for Life gathering to happen in a bigger and better way. Thank you so much for believing in us.

To Sam, Marissa, and all of our CWD kids and sibs – Thanks for being the inspiration.

See you next year!
