Families will enjoy a wonderful dinner on the beach on Saturday evening

Back in 2011 by popular demand! Join your CWD family and friends for a long weekend in truly a paradise setting. The Marco Island Marriott Resort has something for everyone. Whether you enjoy relaxing on the beach with a good book and good friends, or would prefer something more invigorating like sailing or a swim in the surf, or an afternoon full of learning and wonder as you tour the Everglades adjacent to the resort, the choices really are endless.

Conference programming for parents (i.e., educational sessions) will be offered on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:00, right after breakfast. Sessions will be 50 minutes in length, each followed by a quick 10 minute coffee break. Note that the children ages 6-17 will have activities during the morning on Friday and Saturday as well. They will work in specific age groups: Elementary (ages 6-9), Tween (ages 10-12), Teen (ages 13-17), and childcare for potty-trained kids ages 3-5. Additionally, there will be games and other activities for CWD families on the beach throughout the afternoon.

The Marco Island Marriott Resort is now accepting reservations for the CWD weekend. Rates are $259/night. Rooms include in-room refrigerator, coffee, safe, and high speed internet. To reserve a room, you may either book online via their online reservation site or call the hotel at 800-228-9290 or 239-394-2511. Please make sure to state that you are with the Children with Diabetes program. You must use one of these methods to book a room to be included in the CWD room block and receive the special rate. You also must complete a conference registration form in order to participate.

Note that the hotel has completely sold out by November 1 in past years. If you know your family wants to participate, please make your reservations early to ensure a room at the hotel.

Because the conference begins on New Year's Eve, we expect that many CWD families will be on site for part of the winter holiday week. If you plan to arrive a few days early, please make your reservations as soon as possible to ensure that you have space on site.

For more information, contact Mike Schurig at 407-859-9630 (Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00 eastern time) or email .

Registration cancellation policy:
Registration cancellations prior to November 30, 2010 will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. After December 1, 2010, refunds are not available.
